We run for the Memory of the Nation - and we run great!

This year, for the first time, our company MND Drilling & Services joined the charity running challenge Run for the Memory of the Nation, organized by the non-profit organization Post Bellum. The challenge runs throughout May and aims to support the filming of remembrances of veterans, educational programmes for schools and help heroes who stood up to totalitarian regimes or are fighting for freedom today.

Two teams of our colleagues took part in the challenge:

  • 🦊 MND FOXY Team - a team that even in the final phase of the challenge is still in a beautiful 11th place out of almost a hundred participating teams!
  • 💬 ThinkNaDemocracy - the team whose name not only refers to our company acronym MND, but also expresses the values that the whole challenge and our company share, is currently in 33rd place and is not giving up yet.

Both teams have chosen courage as their main motivation - a value that connects the individual stories of memorialists recorded by Memory of a Nation and is also one of KKCG's core values. It means the courage to stand up to injustice, the courage to tell the truth, the courage to act - the very thing our runners symbolically carry with every step they take.

Thank you to all of you who have joined the challenge - whether you are running, cheering, or sharing it on. Every kilometre has a purpose. Every step is a tribute to the memory and values that underpin our work.

He proposed. And he got a vineyard to go with it.

If you’d met Ondřej Zháněl when he was eighteen and told him he’d one day become a winemaker, he’d probably have tapped his forehead in disbelief. The son of an artistic blacksmith, growing up in Břeclav, he had a field behind his house where, at most, beetroot and potatoes were grown. Wine? That certainly didn’t feature in his plans back then.
