MND bought generators for Kiev for 11 million crowns

MND, a company that has been operating in Ukraine for many years, has purchased a total of ten electricity generators, costing eleven million crowns, for the residents of Kyiv. The generators vary in size – ranging from high-output units with a capacity of 140 kW, capable of supplying electricity to large apartment blocks, to smaller generators with an output of 13 kW designed for smaller buildings.

In Kyiv, Jana Hamršmídová, Director of the Energy Division, handed over the generators to representatives of the state-owned company Naftogaz, which will arrange for their installation at the required locations. Access to such equipment is limited for Ukrainians – given the current period of very low temperatures and the extent of damage to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, generators are currently in short supply.

“The situation in Kyiv regarding electricity and heating supplies is critical. Help is needed as quickly as possible, so we are pleased that we managed to source this equipment and deliver it to the site. I am delighted that at least some of Kyiv’s residents will be able to keep warm thanks to them,” said Jana Hamršmídová.

MND has been helping to address challenging energy situations in Ukrainian cities since the first critical winter of the war in 2022. At that time, Russia launched systematic attacks on energy infrastructure, leading to widespread power cuts. In response to this situation, the company supplied, for example, four generators with a capacity of 45–75 kW for the town of Irpin, two of which were installed in schools.

The supply of backup power sources is of crucial importance, particularly during the winter months, when power cuts threaten the functioning of households, schools, healthcare facilities and essential urban infrastructure. The generators help to ensure heating, lighting and the operation of vital services, and thus represent a significant part of long-term support for the civilian population.
