Disposal of probes in Prušánky
In March 2025, the abandonment of three production wells in the Prušánky area was successfully completed - specifically wells Prušánky 4b, 6 and 8. Together, these probes opened and produced the Labe horizon in the Middle Baden on the subsiding crust of the Schrattenberg fault system.
The liquidation took place on the following dates:
- Prušánky 6: 6-13 March 2025
- Prušánky 4b: 14-18 March 2025
- Prušánky 8: 19-25 March 2025
Mining history
- Prušánky 4b was an exploration well that discovered a natural gas field in July 2006. The well produced both gas (51.13 million m³ in total) and oil (4,795.58 m³), with an average daily oil production of 28 m³ in 2013.
- Prusanky 8, a well drilled in 2009, verified the northern extension of the field. Production continued until April 2019, when the horizon was watered. A total of 62.68 m³ of gas and 11,407 m³ of gasoline were produced.
- The Pruzhany 6 well, drilled in 2013, was designed to help complete the oil zone but only captured the gas portion of the field. Between 2014 and 2019, 13.86 million m³ of gas and 41 m³ of gasoline were produced.
After evaluating the electrofracture measurements, no further saturation was detected in the overburden horizons, and therefore it was decided to dispose of the probes after production was completed. This brings to an end almost 20 years of production in the Prušánek area, which has yielded significant energy resources in the form of natural gas, oil and gasoline.

Krumvir 3 - four kilometres underground, potentially huge reserves
The deepest borehole in the Czech Republic in the last 30 years has received considerable media attention. Representatives of newspapers, TV and radio stations went to the area around Krumvír in South Moravia, where Bentec 350 is working. MND arranged an excursion for them to show their readers, viewers and listeners what it is like to work on a borehole that goes more than four kilometres underground.
Borkovany 8 - continuation of a successful deposit
The Borkovany 8 well site is quite densely populated with technology. The Bentec 350 rig is complemented by five trestles, one gas-producing production cross and other infrastructure. For a number of years now, the Borkovany deposit has been in production, and well number 8 will continue to do so. The expected reserves have been confirmed.
