Trading

MND Group continued its trading activities on the European continent. MND acted as a licensed trader of electricity and gas, including trading gas storage capacity, primarily in the markets of the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Hungary. In 2024 Trading increased traded volumes in the financial markets for emission allowances, oil and started trading selected oil products on a global level. As part of its long-term strategy, the MND Group continued to develop and refine automated and autonomous trading models for different market segments, countries and commodities. MND further expanded its geographic reach to include electricity trading in Italy.

Trading strategy was affected by a number of external risks associated with the war in Ukraine and the threat to gas flows through its territory.

Retail

Retail strengthened its position in the energy market. By the end of the year, MND supplied energy to 269,722 customer sites, an increase of 14,000, or around five per cent, year-on-year.

For gas, the figure was more than 119,000 (an increase of three thousand) and for electricity it was more than 150,000 (an increase of 11,000) points of consumption. The MND Group launched the first projects using artificial intelligence, which speeds up the processing of customer requests and makes data analysis more accurate. Thanks to these innovations, communication with customers is improving, leading to an increase in the quality of service provided. Retail's significant step in 2024 was the takeover of the call centres in Kolín and Ústí nad Labem, which brought greater operational efficiency and improved customer communication, and ultimately improved business results.

Exploration and Production

The MND Group holds five exploration areas covering a total area of 1,784 km2 in the South-East Moravia region. Subsidiaries hold nine exploration and production licences covering a total area of 400 square kilometres in Ukraine. In 2024, the MND Group drilled two appraisal wells and two appraisal wells in South Moravia and six wells in Western Ukraine.

During the year in the eastern part of the country, MND carried out 3D seismic measurements in the Zhukovsky licence area. Based on the results and interpretation of the data obtained, MND is designing and drilling exploration wells targeting new oil and gas discoveries.

In total, oil production in the Czech Republic in 2024 will reach 75 thousand cubic meters and natural gas production will reach 79 million cubic meters. Subsidiaries in Ukraine produced 67 million cubic meters of natural gas.

Gas storage

MND Group had a very successful year in gas storage. All three storage companies (MND Energy Storage, MND Gas Storage and MND Gas Storage Germany) fulfilled their ambitious financial plans. At the same time, the takeover of control of MND Gas Storage was completed, opening up the possibility of synergies between PZP Uhřice and Dambořice.

Drilling and workover activities

In 2024, the MND Group drilled four wells for its own operations (MND, Inc.) and nineteen wells for external customers. These included drilling or underground workover operations in Hungary, France, Germany, Croatia, Spain and the Czech Republic.

In the Czech Republic, the MND Group started its drilling activities in 2024 with the drilling of two deeper wells (Borkovany 8 and Krumvíř 3) with the Bentec 350 rig for the parent company MND, a. s. In addition, two deeper wells were drilled with the MD 150 rig from August to September for LAMA Gas & Oil, a. s, Břeclav 46 and Břeclav 45 wells were drilled in August and then the Koryčany 21 and Mikulov 3 wells were drilled with this rig again for MND, a. s.

The new look of the Úprkov site

The refurbishment of the MND site and building on Úprkova Street is gradually transforming the working environment to better meet the current needs of both the company and its staff. This is not merely a technical upgrade – the project specifically combines functionality, aesthetics and the community aspect of the space. The transformation of the site is not taking place in a single phase. The refurbishment of the interior spaces has been underway since 2024 and also includes technical aspects such as the modernisation of the heating system. The modifications to the outdoor area are based on an architectural study prepared by Jung architekti at the end of 2025.
