Introduction of MND Ukraine team
MND Ukraine consists of a group of several companies. Today the main company in Ukraine is the company Horyzonty. MND Ukraine owns exploration and production rights from a total of eight licenses covering an aggregate area of almost 400 square kilometres and with a daily production of 500,000 cubic metres. MND's activities are currently managed by 59 colleagues.
MND has come a long way since it started doing business in Ukraine in 2014. At the outset, there were only four licences, three producing wells, 45 colleagues and a relatively modest daily production of 50,000 cubic metres. Unfortunately, this production did not grow over time but declined and the situation did not look good for MND at all. The response to the very low production (20,000 m3/day) was to halve the number of office positions and move to smaller office space. A turnaround in business came in 2018. The discovery of the Girska field and its gradual development meant an increase in daily production to a then record 340,000 cubic metres of natural gas. The high production triggered the need to strengthen the company's staff and enabled the gradual purchase of additional exploration and production licenses in the following years, and also helped to finance the construction of the Oriv wind park.
It should be mentioned that the main part of the development of the Gir field took place during the period of the covida pandemic, with all the limitations that this entailed. However, if we thought that everything would go faster and much better after the end of the covid, we were very wrong. Russian aggression has been and continues to be a major difficulty for our activities. The construction of the Oriv wind power plant has been delayed by a year. Work on the newly purchased Tynivskaya and Zhukyvskaya licences has also been significantly delayed. But there is also positive news - early last year we discovered the significant Tynivskaya natural gas field. The gradual tie-in of new wells has ensured that production has increased again to its current level. In the coming months, we intend to gradually increase production further. We expect to produce 700,000 cubic meters of gas per day in the long term.
The current assumption for gas production in Ukraine for 2025 is 201 million cubic meters. In the middle of this year we intend to drill an exploration well on the Pivdeno Girskaya license purchased last year. At the end of the year we plan to drill the first well on the Zhukyvskaya license. We hope that both licenses will confirm the hopes placed in them and after drilling we will proceed with the connection and then start the actual production.
We believe and hope that, if all goes well, we will be approaching the one million cubic meters of natural gas per day production mark by the end of 2026. At the same time, we are thinking about and looking for other opportunities to increase the number of licenses and thus ensure further development of our business in Ukraine. All this requires a strong, efficient and reliable team, which we are gradually adding to.
Let's briefly introduce the main members of the Ukrainian team:

MND in Ukraine supported dozens of foster families
"Yay, notebooks!" exclaims the ten-year-old girl enthusiastically, happily taking her school supplies out of her new backpack. Ordinary school supplies – something that most children in the Czech Republic take for granted – are a rarity for her.
Oil production at the Lanžhot field ends after 70 years
The site is awaiting reclamation and restoration to nature. After almost seven decades, mining at the Lanžhot deposit, the southernmost oil deposit in the Czech Republic, is coming to an end. In a remote forest area at the confluence of the Dyje and Kyjovka rivers, in a location that is located in a protected zone and whose administration is becoming increasingly demanding from a legislative point of view, only a few wells remain today. These will be gradually closed in the coming years and the entire area will be prepared for reclamation.
MND opens new offices in Lviv
More space, more light and room for growth. On 18 November this year, MND Ukraine officially opened its new modern offices in Lviv. The spacious, wood-panelled and airy premises offer employees significantly better working conditions and a representative setting for meetings. The new headquarters in the very centre of the city also allows for further planned growth of the team.
