Introduction of MND Ukraine team

MND Ukraine consists of a group of several companies. Today the main company in Ukraine is the company Horyzonty. MND Ukraine owns exploration and production rights from a total of eight licenses covering an aggregate area of almost 400 square kilometres and with a daily production of 500,000 cubic metres. MND's activities are currently managed by 59 colleagues.

MND has come a long way since it started doing business in Ukraine in 2014. At the outset, there were only four licences, three producing wells, 45 colleagues and a relatively modest daily production of 50,000 cubic metres. Unfortunately, this production did not grow over time but declined and the situation did not look good for MND at all. The response to the very low production (20,000 m3/day) was to halve the number of office positions and move to smaller office space. A turnaround in business came in 2018. The discovery of the Girska field and its gradual development meant an increase in daily production to a then record 340,000 cubic metres of natural gas. The high production triggered the need to strengthen the company's staff and enabled the gradual purchase of additional exploration and production licenses in the following years, and also helped to finance the construction of the Oriv wind park.

It should be mentioned that the main part of the development of the Gir field took place during the period of the covida pandemic, with all the limitations that this entailed. However, if we thought that everything would go faster and much better after the end of the covid, we were very wrong. Russian aggression has been and continues to be a major difficulty for our activities. The construction of the Oriv wind power plant has been delayed by a year. Work on the newly purchased Tynivskaya and Zhukyvskaya licences has also been significantly delayed. But there is also positive news - early last year we discovered the significant Tynivskaya natural gas field. The gradual tie-in of new wells has ensured that production has increased again to its current level. In the coming months, we intend to gradually increase production further. We expect to produce 700,000 cubic meters of gas per day in the long term.

The current assumption for gas production in Ukraine for 2025 is 201 million cubic meters. In the middle of this year we intend to drill an exploration well on the Pivdeno Girskaya license purchased last year. At the end of the year we plan to drill the first well on the Zhukyvskaya license. We hope that both licenses will confirm the hopes placed in them and after drilling we will proceed with the connection and then start the actual production.

We believe and hope that, if all goes well, we will be approaching the one million cubic meters of natural gas per day production mark by the end of 2026. At the same time, we are thinking about and looking for other opportunities to increase the number of licenses and thus ensure further development of our business in Ukraine. All this requires a strong, efficient and reliable team, which we are gradually adding to.

Let's briefly introduce the main members of the Ukrainian team:

Volodymyr Stebletskyy

Technical Director

Volodymyr ensures and manages all technical processes from drilling, through technology construction to production. His energy drives our business forward. He always sets the highest goals. He has been with MND Group since the beginning of our business in Ukraine.

Galyna Bufan

Chief Economic Officer

She took over the baton from Petra Mifkova. Galyna keeps an eye on the company's treasury, plans, reports and organizes the economic agenda. In addition, she protects companies from frequent attacks by the tax office. She has been with the MND Group since the beginning of our business in UA.

Andriy Kozhan

Director of Legal Department

Andriy manages and takes care of the legal stand of the companies' operations. He has successfully handled several lawsuits for MND Group. Our cooperation started in 2018.

Olga Yehorova

Andriana Hrytskevych

Natural Gas Sales Manager

Andriana deals daily with the development and situation on the Ukrainian natural gas market. Her knowledge and experience in the industry allow her to sell produced natural gas at maximum possible prices with minimum risk of non-payment. She has been with MND Group since the beginning of our business in Ukraine.

Roman Nahirnyj

Chief Engineer

Roman joined our Group from the state-owned company Ukrgazvydobuvanj. He brought with him new perspectives and working methods. He applied these initially at the Girska mining site. Later, he transferred them to the whole company. Roman has been with MND since 2020.

Volodymyr Radelytskyi

Geologist

Volodya previously worked at the state-owned company Zakhidukrgeologia. He has a great knowledge of the geological structure of western Ukraine in particular. However, he is no stranger to eastern Ukraine either. That is why he recommended and promoted, among other things, the purchase of the Tynivska (Lviv region) and Zhukyvska (Poltava region) licences. Volodya has been working at MND since 2018.

We work even when missiles fly over us, says MND Ukraine's technical chief

The MND Group has been operating in Ukraine for over ten years and, despite the war, it has managed not only to maintain operations but also to gradually develop gas production. However, everyday work takes place in conditions that most of us in Czechia or Germany can hardly imagine. We talked to Volodya Stebletsky, Technical Director of MND Ukraine, about how MND Ukraine works today, what is most difficult and what gives them the strength to continue.

Oil on the rails

Four times more crude oil than before is sent by MND from the Lusatian railway station to Kralupy nad Vltavou these weeks. The reason for this is the termination of transport via the Druzhba pipeline. All the crude oil produced must be transported by tanker - first by truck, then by rail.

Disposal of probes in Prušánky

In March 2025, the abandonment of three production wells in the Prušánky area was successfully completed - specifically wells Prušánky 4b, 6 and 8. Together, these probes opened and produced the Labe horizon in the Middle Baden on the subsiding crust of the Schrattenberg fault system.
