Why is DOPIS, our new competency model, important?
Our new competence model is called DOPIS. Why is it called DOPIS and why is it important to us? We asked Milan Duba, Managing Director of MND Energie.
Dear colleagues,
We have recently introduced a new competency model, which we have called DOPIS - Keeping the Word, Goal Orientation, Proactivity, Innovation and Collaboration.
This model did not come about by accident. It's based on our core values that express who we are and where we are going. The DOPIS is not just a set of rules of conduct, but also a compass to help us better navigate our daily work and decision-making.
It will play a vital role in all HR processes - from recruiting new colleagues, to developing and training them, to rewarding and promoting them. At the same time, I believe it will become an inspiration for all of us. It will help us not only to achieve our goals, but also to build together a company culture based on trust, innovation and teamwork.
For the DOPIS to be of real benefit, it is important that it becomes part of our thinking and our daily actions. Only together can we improve our company culture and at the same time strengthen our position in the market.
Milan Duban, Managing Director
And how does our DOPIS sound?
We keep our word
Trustworthiness and ethics means the ability to keep promises, act with empathy, respect others and maintain high standards of moral integrity.
Goal orientation
Goal orientation and customer care means setting clear and achievable goals, providing exceptional customer care not only for the sake of customer appreciation, but to truly improve the value and success of the entire company.
Proactivity
A proactive approach and commitment includes the ability to take initiative and flexibility to solve problems, continuously develop personally, put forth maximum effort, work hard and actively seek ways and solutions.
Innovation
Innovative thinking and courage means not being afraid to try new and different things, taking a healthy level of risk even at the cost of possible failure, and always striving for meaningful results and added value.
Collaboration
Collaboration and sharing involves knowing how to work effectively with others, valuing teamwork, being open to different perspectives and ideas, and actively sharing knowledge and experience.
Pictured holding the sign is our miner Richard, who is the main face of MND in our communications. But let's not let that fool us. The aim of the new competency model is that everyone really does represent the values in the DOPIS. We will therefore introduce each value in turn in a series of articles and discuss what the values mean to us. Please keep an eye on our internal communication with DOPIS, and we will certainly have some nice prize competitions coming up.

Tours to Moravia introduced the work of MND to our employees, colleagues and customers
A total of 60 people went on a journey to discover the story of oil and gas extraction. All three tours with MND had one thing in common - none of the participants had any idea what a well looked like, they imagined the deposit as a cave with oil and gas underground and the gas reservoir as a kind of tank that we built as a storage. Actually, they had one more thing in common - without exaggeration, they all left excited. 60 people learned how sophisticated, demanding and often hard our people work on wells or reservoirs.
Solid values in volatile times are behind our success in the market
He was there from the beginning. MND Energie Marketing Director Jan Sýkora was involved in the birth of the MND brand on the retail market and is behind the concept of "gas from the first hand". In a recent interview, he talks about how customers, competitors and, most importantly, the market have changed over the past decade. While in the beginning the energy market was a stagnant pond that not many people cared about, since the energy crisis of 2021 it has been a pretty rough sea.
