The Peace Race through the eyes of MND

MND has long supported Czech cycling and, as the main partner of the Peace Race, sponsors not only top cyclists from around the world but also the MND Children’s Race for 180 young athletes. We’ve organised a competition for fans to win two e-bikes worth 90 000 Kč.

Four stages full of drama
. The race began on 28 May and culminated on 31 May. The opening stage from Jeseník to Šumperk was won by the Danish rider Mads Landbo. He defended his lead in the gruelling second stage from Uničov to Rýmařov. The decisive stage was the queen stage, finishing at Dlouhé Stráně, after which Kamiel Eeman from Belgium took the lead. He went on to become the overall winner after the final stage to Šternberk. Czech rider Václav Ježek also shone, finishing third.

The MND Children’s Race attracted 180 young cyclists
Children and young riders also have their place at the Peace Race. The MND Children’s Race was part of Saturday’s programme in Kouty nad Desnou. Around 180 children lined up at the start – from the youngest beginners right through to older pupils. The youngest competed on shorter courses, whilst the older riders put their stamina and determination to the test.

Fans competed for e-bikes worth 90 000 Kč
We set up two MND activity zones for fans, in Rýmařov and Šternberk. Visitors could enter a competition to win an e-bike worth 90 000 Kč and have a go on the wheel of fortune for small gifts. In Rýmařov, Miroslav Šandera won the e-bike. He had long dreamt of owning one, but until now hadn’t had enough money to buy one. He was absolutely delighted with his prize.

In Šternberk, Michal Kotouč was the lucky winner; he plans to use his prize for family bike rides. Thanks to this success, he says he’ll be able to get his parents involved too. The vouchers for e-bikes were presented on stage by Milan Duba, Managing Director of MND Energie. He also presented jerseys to the best sprinters and climbers among the competitors.

Thank you to all our colleagues
Our thanks go to all our colleagues who helped organise and run the event – Natálie Havránková, Ivana Macejková, Michael Hájek, Dan Mikeš and Michal Vejborný, Tereza Lázenská and Klára Hurdová. Thanks also go to Milan Dub for his support of the event, the jersey presentation and the meeting with business partners.

Our support for cycling doesn’t end here. The Czech Tour 2026 will take place from 13 to 16 August, and we are once again the main partner. So keep following us and you’ll find out more soon.
