Curling premiere in Brno: ice challenge with brooms

On Friday, March 28, after lunch, we left our desks and went for a completely new experience - to try curling. This seemingly quiet sport, known mainly from TV screens, quickly convinced us that "sliding stones on ice" is no fun.

A total of twenty brave colleagues gathered on the ice in Brno. The first two hours were devoted to theory and practical exercises - how to properly launch a stone, how to estimate its trajectory and, above all, how to "sweep the ice" just in front of the stone so that the competitor reaches where he should. We soon found out that the physics of curling is pretty tricky - there was no shortage of sore thighs and "icy" falls.

After the initial training, we divided into six teams and played a friendly tournament. Tension, laughter and minor tactical arguments filled the ice until the winners were announced.

It was not only a sporting experience, but also a team experience. Curling taught us how to work together better, how to communicate... and that sweeping the ice can be a chore. We definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new and especially unconventional.

And yet it is here that Ivana Kečkešová stands, carrying out technical supervision on MND’s Czech drilling sites.

Although 2025 was by no means an easy year for MND’s storage companies, as the prediction that developments in the gas market could have a negative impact on the storage capacity market proved entirely accurate, all three of our storage companies successfully met their targets and thus managed to generate the expected added value.
