Disposal of probes in Prušánky
In March 2025, the abandonment of three production wells in the Prušánky area was successfully completed - specifically wells Prušánky 4b, 6 and 8. Together, these probes opened and produced the Labe horizon in the Middle Baden on the subsiding crust of the Schrattenberg fault system.
The liquidation took place on the following dates:
- Prušánky 6: 6-13 March 2025
- Prušánky 4b: 14-18 March 2025
- Prušánky 8: 19-25 March 2025
Mining history
- Prušánky 4b was an exploration well that discovered a natural gas field in July 2006. The well produced both gas (51.13 million m³ in total) and oil (4,795.58 m³), with an average daily oil production of 28 m³ in 2013.
- Prusanky 8, a well drilled in 2009, verified the northern extension of the field. Production continued until April 2019, when the horizon was watered. A total of 62.68 m³ of gas and 11,407 m³ of gasoline were produced.
- The Pruzhany 6 well, drilled in 2013, was designed to help complete the oil zone but only captured the gas portion of the field. Between 2014 and 2019, 13.86 million m³ of gas and 41 m³ of gasoline were produced.
After evaluating the electrofracture measurements, no further saturation was detected in the overburden horizons, and therefore it was decided to dispose of the probes after production was completed. This brings to an end almost 20 years of production in the Prušánek area, which has yielded significant energy resources in the form of natural gas, oil and gasoline.

Shallow drilling campaign to start next year based on results of latest 3D seismic
For next year, our geologists have prepared a series of wells that they have identified based on the latest large 3D seismic survey. The campaign will start in the second half of the year in the Dubňany and Skoronic area. During December, however, work will begin on the last well of the season - Mikulov 3.
Artificial intelligence is already helping in MND
In recent years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become one of the most discussed technological phenomena. For a long time now, it has not only been discussed in the context of science fiction films or scientific research institutes. Thanks to increasingly powerful computing and the availability of data, AI technologies have seen a huge boom in recent months. AI is now making real inroads into all aspects of our lives, from work to healthcare, science, education and entertainment.
MND's plan for Ukraine: to be the country's largest foreign oil and gas producer within three years
Horizons (a subsidiary of MND Ukraine) is working on two licenses in western Ukraine, with the Tynivskaya license now ramping up and very promising. The first exploration well has exceeded expectations. Once the necessary infrastructure is completed, it will start producing gas. Horizons has seen production decline in the war years, but this trend should now reverse.
